Get A Widget - Tools for Art Lovers and Designers
I went over to Apple.com to drool checkout the new MacPro 17" notebook. It sure is pretty. While there I thought I'd look into some new widgets. I can't image how I was able to survive without these handy little apps. Here are a few to save you some time or dress up your Mac screen.
1. This first one I read about over at Musematic. Richard Urban writes about the Rijkswidget from the Rijksmuseum. Download it from Apple. Btw... Richard, love the Mystery Science Theater 2000 guys on your screen!
“The Rijkswidget only does one thing, but that one thing is absolutely splendid: it allows you to view a different work from the collection every day. And the ‘reverse side’ of every work provides more information about the work and the painter.”
2. Art Directors Toolkit Widget: Very useful and also available at Apple.
"Designed for creative professionals (graphic and web designers), this stand-alone application is packed with features. Search through thousands of color swatches in industry-standard libraries, view characters and keyboard equivalents of fonts, sample colors on-screen, convert fractions/decimals/units of measure, calculate file sizes, and much more."
3. Blogger Widget: For those of you using Blogger. Get this handy little widget so you can post right from your MAC dashboard. Available at Google.
