Your true cleverness.

Hi, it was a nice reading, truly. I agree with you about that blogs and other new internet methods can help in one's career. Just the term web2.0 seems little bit ridiculus for me, because if to follow software terminology, there are must be web2.1, web3.103 build 367, etc... But anyway, people feel that their life is changing and calling it web2.0, this process just needed to have a name.

Finally, I predict dramatical changes, and what do we see now it's only the beginning of new era. New Internet methods give the power for individuals to connect into networks- for good or for bad, but finally for benefits of communities and their members. My dreams are about the freedom and financial stability for every person, gained by using the next generation of communication tools, like possibility to create and realize new tools, services, and as a result, to brake out the barriers built by monopolies and old way of things.

I agree, the term Web2.0 is a bit vague. In fact it's rather undefined and even Wikipedia doesn't have an actual "defination" of what Web2.0 means. Perhaps that is because Web2.0 is still evolving. Some see this shift as a shift in technology...ajax, api etc. Some see it in terms of embracing community. Regardless, the process does need a name.

I see Web2.0 as a combination of both technology and community. And as a tool of the people, my hope is that in some ways it puts the power to communicate back in the hands of people rather than the media and the corporation. We'll see. We can still mess it up but I see great potential in "Web2.0". Thanks for the thoughtful comment Igor.

  • "I found Lisa Mikulski to be just the right resource at the right time: focused, professional, with a great eye for color and design, and with very fast turnaround time for getting images up on the web -- an artist's best friend and there when you need her! She's got a really good command of the two worlds we as artists now inhabit: the technical issues of cyberspace in today's market, combined with bottom line issues of artistic judgement. I highly recommend her as a great resource for web design, artistic and gallery management."
