Because it was raining again this morning, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to catch up on some of my Blogline feeds. Cat Morley, at Designers Who Blog, featured on Thursday June 8th, one of the best art blogs I've seen. Lines and Colors by Charley Parker. Not only is the design of his blog lovely and well organized but the articles are fantastic. I love the domain name as well (maybe something only a web designer can appreciate?) His blogroll took me to some very exciting illustrators, painters and cartoonists. It was like finding a gold mine. And one day soon I'll be sure to create a section in ArtLOOK dedicated to pointing the direction toward some fine artists such as Charley's.
Charley's April 3rd post on "A Painting A Day" was the thing that immediately got my attention as this is a notion I've been discussing with several of my clients. Charley gives a good deal of background info on the subject, who originally started the notion of "A Painting A Day" and provides links to other artists who are doing the same and making some pretty nice bucks doing so. I can't explain "A Painting A Day" any better than Charley has, so I encourage you to go forth and enjoy...Read "A Painting A Day Blogs" here.
Isn't "Lines & Colors" a wonderful blog!! I enjoyed the "Painting-a-Day" post, especially since I know some of the bloggers featured. Painting each and every day is absolutely essential to creative growth. I've been engaging in the "painting-a-day" discipline since I was introduced to Duane Keiser's work many, many months ago. My daily work from last winter is compiled at www.paintingadayproject.blogspot.com and my current project "Flower-a-Day" painted en plein air, in the garden, is posted daily at www.janblencowe.blogspot.com

This is also an interesting site. Photo-transfer prints that are one of a kind and very beautiful. I love all these sites and am collecting some great art.
